With the sun starting in Virgo, Mercury relinquishing its Retrograde mid-point, and an Aries Full Moon on September 29th, there’s a lot to absorb over the next month. Here’s what our astrology expert and MedicateOH editor-in-chief Alex has in her forecast, including some canna-products to help you stay in tune with the stars:

SUN IN VIRGO UNTIL SEPT 22
Last month, I talked about the big Virgo energies that start creeping in beginning late August and will be with us until the sun enters Libra on Sept 23rd. At the beginning of this month, Venus Stations Direct. By the mid-point, Mercury too relinquishes its Retrograde. Then, the month ends with an Aries Full Moon. Here’s what the planets have in store for us this September:
LEO VENUS STATIONS DIRECT
When a planet “Stations Direct” it means the planet discontinues the backward travel through the degrees of a zodiac sign and begins to prepare for its venture forward. On September 3rd, the planet of love, money, values, and security (Venus) will do exactly that. Venus has been in Retrograde in the sign of Leo since late July. Now it’s time to get to work, time to shine.
Leo makes things hard to ignore, and sensual Venus enjoys the continuing light Fixed Fire offers. This is a perfect formula for playing with bold, even spicy flavors as well as rich textures like honey. Eden’s Trees offers a “Hot Honey” infused with 500+ mg of THC and relaxing cannabinoids like CBN. Camino’s Pineapple Habanero Edibles offer a kick of heat, balanced with ripe pineapple flavor, and stimulating terpenes Alpha-Pinene and Limonene. Another option for relief may be Hon’s honey, which is locally-sourced and comes in seasonal flavors like cinnamon.

JUPITER RETROGRADE IN TAURUS
Another Fixed Sign comes to light the first week of September when Jupiter in Taurus Stations Retrograde (i.e., opposite to Station Direct). Jupiter, the planet of expansion, higher education, philosophy, traveling a distance, and doctrine explores some of the above-mentioned Venusian qualities while in Taurus – one of Venus’s ruling signs. Taurus, a Fixed Earth sign, delights when using its senses of taste, touch, sight, and smell. It’s also within the realm of likelihood that Jupiter in Taurus can be known for overspending, overeating, overindulging, or overexerting.
Now that Jupiter takes a step back for its first Retrograde cycle, it’s valuable to slow your outward expressions and come into yourself. Retrogrades always offer a moment for rejuvenation and reflection. Note the House of your birth chart that Taurus rules. This is the area of life that will need to come under some re-examination.
If you operate on a budget, it would be wise to not blow things out of proportion on frivolous spending this month. Save that for Jupiter’s Station Direct later on, when abundance and resource-gathering will be better aspected. One way to save: If you’re not already perusing menus of new dispensaries in your area to check out their introductory deals compared to your regular store, now is the time to start.

MORE TRANSITS TO COME: PRACTICE SELF CARE
Mercury’s Retrograde in Virgo comes to an end on September 15th. After that, it’ll progress through the rest of Virgo and onto Libra just as we near the beginning of Libra season. By the first week of October, Mars, Mercury, and the Sun will all be activated in the sign of Libra.
A New Moon in Virgo on September 14th marks Mutable Earth stellium, lasting only days. This stimulating energy is enhanced by a Trine to Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus, both Retrograde. Trines are planets 120° apart from each other, usually in a beneficial flow.
To step into easement during this transit, carve out a day in your calendar for self-care. You may want to light some candles, enjoy a heavier strain than normal such as Appalachian Pharm’s Runtz Berries, and soak in a nice salty bath. Follow up with a soothing topical like Beneleaves Lavender Lotion which can offer up to 4 hours of symptom relief. Or check out one of the premium topicals offered by Lighthouse Sciences.
HAPPY LIBRA SEASON
On September 23rd, the Sun moves into Libra, a favorite time of the year for me. Libra is the sign of justice and balance, represented by scales. (MedicateOH’s Publisher Gabrielle Dion and I both celebrate our birthdays in Libra season!)
Also happening on September 23rd is the Autumnal Equinox, the day of equal sun and night (so, Libra) when the Sun is exactly above the Equator. Think back to the Vernal Equinox in April, the intentions and goals you set forth for yourself. This is the mid-point of the Astrological year when we reflect and reconnect.

FULL MOON IN ARIES: SEPTEMBER 29th (SAVE THE DATE, CINCINNATI!)
The month ends with a Full Moon in Aries on September 29th. Earlier this year we had one of the first in a series of Cardinal-Axis Eclipses occurring between Aries and Libra. Although this lunation is not an eclipse, it certainly carries with it a dynamic energy nonetheless. With a Full Moon in Aries and the Sun in Libra, it’s a great day for socializing and enjoying time with friends.
September 29th’s full moon is called the Harvest Moon, as it’s the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox. MedicateOH will be celebrating the Full Moon with a special event! Mark your calendars for September 29th in Cincinnati. Details are in the works, so make sure to join our email list so our event announcement doesn’t get lost in the clutter (you know how Retrogrades can be.)
