The team at Klutch Cannabis proudly announced the opening of their second Ohio medical marijuana dispensary after their first opened earlier this year in Lorain. The Citizen by Klutch will open in Canton at 401 Cherry Avenue NE. on June 30th 2023 at 10 a.m.

About Klutch Cannabis

The opening of The Citizen in Canton marks a continuation of Klutch’s mission to recapture the magic of retail in Ohio’s burgeoning market for medical cannabis. Klutch earned Level 1 cultivation and processing licenses during the initial application process in 2018. They currently operate an 82,000-square-foot facility in Akron that includes almost 30,000 square feet of indoor cultivation space, a commercial kitchen, a solventless lab, a hydrocarbon lab, a CO2 lab and additional production and office areas. 

Klutch was passed over for a dispensary license in 2018. Because cultivators have little control over how dispensaries price and sell products, earning their own dispensary licenses was a key priority for Klutch, said Pete Nischt, Vice President of Compliance and Communications. In 2021, the OMMCP announced more dispensary licenses would be awarded via a lottery. The lottery drawing resulted in two dispensaries for Klutch Cannabis, one in Lorain and the second in Canton. 

Dispensary Innovations at The Citizen by Klutch in Canton

The dispensary will bring The Citizen’s state-of-the-art interactive menu system, technological innovations, high-end accessibility, and affordable premium menu to medical marijuana patients in Canton and surrounding areas. The store will feature a wide variety of Klutch-branded products, including products exclusive to the dispensary, as well as Kiva Confections’ line of award-winning edibles, which Klutch manufactures under an exclusive license in Ohio. The menu will also feature premium products cultivated and manufactured by other state-licensed Cultivators and Processors.

Serving Ohio Patients

Klutch Founder and CEO Adam Thomarios gives his thoughts on this opportunity to further serve Ohio patients. “For too long, Ohio dispensaries have been plagued by long lines, complicated menus, high prices, and minimal opportunities for patient education and interaction. Throughout this process, our goal has been to put patients first by designing stores that eliminate these pain points and foster meaningful experiences,” he said.

Designed by pharmacists, The Citizen by Klutch team developed several patient innovations for their stores to help make it easier for Ohio MMJ patients to learn about and select their cannabis medicine. At The Citizen, patients will find:

  • Mellowtron, a mixing board driven by budboard™’s industry-leading deep data to categorize cannabis strains and products, ensuring the most consistent cannabis experience for the user.

Hours of Operation will be Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sundays.
