Dr. Bridget Cole Williams’ New Book

Courage in Cannabis Volume 2: The Triumphant Stories is a recently-released anthology book that is a project of the GHH Community Foundation, a nonprofit 501c(3) organization. It includes stories written by doctors, patients, activists, lawyers, and caregivers regarding their unique experiences with cannabis. Dr. Bridget is the creator of Courage in Cannabis, a family physician, an empowerment coach, an educator, an author, and the CEO of Embody.

On June 13, 2023 I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Bridget Cole Williams about the book she is trailblazing as part of her nonprofit. We discussed the mission of the book, how readers can get involved, and what will be next for Dr. Bridget and the other Courage in Cannabis authors.

What Types of Stories to Expect

When embarking on creating a second volume of Courage in Cannabis, Dr. Bridget’s mission was for “…everyone to be able to find and be able to see themselves in those stories. I knew there were so many stories that we had not even touched upon yet. Volume 2 was about getting some different stories and different approaches, more legacy aspects, more [medical conditions] even like PTSD, and more unique women’s perspectives that we didn’t get a chance to touch on in the first book.” Not only is the experience beneficial for the readers to read about someone who has been in a similar situation, but Dr. Williams says it is “therapeutic and empowering” for the writers.

How to Acquire the Book

Paperbacks of  Courage in Cannabis Volume 2: The Triumphant Stories will be available for sale online through Amazon, Walmart, and Barnes & Noble. A e-book is available through Amazon as well. There will be other distributors of the book, including through some of the authors directly and through independent bookstores. Dr. Bridget says, “We also connect with the distributors of almost every small bookstore in America. I believe in some supporting small book sources as well. If you go to the online catalog of most small bookstores, you will be able to find the book.”

Dr. Bridget describes the reading experience as, “an opportunity for every unique story to connect to people in a very personal way.” Readers can connect with the authors by visiting courageincannabis.com. Each author has a page with their biography, contact information, and social media links. There is also information about the book’s generous sponsors and how to reach them.

What Is Next for Dr. Bridget and the Authors?

The upcoming book launch isn’t where it ends for Dr. Bridget and her co-authors. “There are so many ways that we can connect with communities and areas, and this isn’t just a one woman show. This is a collective and a community that we create through Courage in Cannabis.” Look out for information about book signings and event appearances from various authors. Dr. Bridget, by creating the book as a project of her GHH Community Foundation non-profit, has found another way to give back to the cannabis community. The sales of Courage in Cannabis Volume 2: The Triumphant Stories go back to the GHH Community Foundation so that more people can afford to participate as authors in future volumes.
