Sarah is an Ohio medical marijuana patient, cannabis educator, and product reviewer residing in the Columbus area. Sarah tells Ohio patients what she thought about Cush BD, a high CBD medical marijuana flower product she purchased at Ohio Provisions in Carroll last week.
This was my first time purchasing a product from Hemma. I had never purchased a product that was intentionally “high CBD” but because of the low price at Ohio Provisions, I wanted to give it a try. It was $19, which is considerably lower than comparable products that are lower in CBD and higher in THC content.
Packaging:
At first look of the packaging, it comes in a small white, child-proof bag. On the front of the bag is a blue box with white writing that says “HEMMA” in big letters with the words “Small Batch Premium Flower” below it. On the back of the package there is the necessary information such as: Product ID, Batch number, the harvest, tested, expiration, and package date.
It also lists the weight, that it is a Tier 1 marijuana product, the testing lab, THC, THCA, CBD, and CBDA contents. It has a disclaimer at the bottom that states: “This product is for medical use and not for resale or transfer to another person. This product may cause impairment and may be habit forming.”
The bag wasn’t as bad as it could have been since they typically have a bad wrap in the cannabis industry; however, I would love to see Hemma go to different containers.

Opening the Container:
These bags are definitely child-proof, but if you don’t read the instructions on the back of how to open it, you’re probably going to have a hard time opening it. My only complaint upon opening the container was that the flower (“buds”) were kind of smashed together and a little flatter than usual. This is a risk sometimes with purchasing products that are in bags. I don’t believe that the flatter bud affected the potency or quality as I still enjoyed the effects. The flower itself was a pretty bright green with hints of an evergreen color, as well as some yellow.
Since it was a CBD heavy flower it was more leafy than what you would see out of some buds. The smell of the flower itself was overall a pine smell, but it was a lot sweeter of a smell than I’m used to with flower.
How it Worked for Me:
Overall, and for the price of it , I really enjoyed the Cush BD by Hemma.
This product I bought specifically with medical benefits in mind as I haven’t experimented with CBD as much as I have THC. I have a pretty high tolerance to THC but through this experience I learned that my tolerance to CBD was not as high as I thought. Upon consuming the product, I was very mellow and pain-free, especially with my nausea.
I found this was a great strain to help me relax after a stressful day without feeling too “high” as well. As someone who battles with Generalized Anxiety Disorder this was a great strain to alleviate tension from the day. I would personally recommend this strain to people struggling falling asleep at night too because of how much of a mellowing effect it has. I loved the combination of THC and CBD and will probably find myself buying more CBD products now.
