September is National Recovery Month and the Ohio nonprofit MedicateOH presents two free community events to recognize the occasion. Founded in 2019 on supporting the community of Ohioans who’ve found healing through plant medicine, MedicateOH offers these events to celebrate our ongoing healing journeys. Educate & Elevate: A Cannabis Wellness Experience will be held on September 21st in Columbus and Canna-Community Night will take place in Cincinnati on September 25. Both events highlight the evolving role of cannabis in health and wellness, particularly its significance in aiding recovery. Learn more:

Elevate & Educate: A Cannabis Wellness Experience

Saturday, September 21st, 3-7 p.m. at Columbus Botanical Depot Event Center

Elevate & Educate: A Cannabis Wellness Experience on September 21, hosted by MedicateOH, is designed to be an informative and immersive event focusing on the holistic benefits of cannabis. With the opioid crisis and increasing mental health challenges plaguing Ohio communities, events like this can offer a safe space for individuals exploring wellness solutions outside of traditional pharmaceuticals.

Participant can learn during a seminar on the history and culture of cannabis, shop our plant medicine expo, and hear stories of cannabis healing. We’ll also have a round of trivia with prizes and end with a sound bath ceremony. Register free here.

Cincinnati Canna-Community Night

Wenesday, September 25th, 5-10 p.m. at Stanley’s Pub

Meanwhile, Canna-Community Night on September 25 will be a celebration of Ohio’s growing cannabis community. It offers a space for networking, support, and learning among patients, caregivers, advocates and consumers. The event emphasizes building community ties, helping patients feel empowered in their cannabis journeys, and providing a supportive environment for those navigating the state’s new laws with regards to cannabis.

Join us for an evening of cannabis education & connection. At MedicateOH we believe music is medicine, so we’ve also got some great live music acts lined up for you! We also extend our support to those residing in our neighbors to the South. Kentucky’s medical cannabis program commences in January 2025, and we’ve just launched our sister organization, MedicateKY, to support patients in the Bluegrass state.

National Recovery Month: Educating, Extending Community Support, Reducing Stigma

MedicateOH has been producing free community events throughout Ohio since 2021. Our events also provide a chance for advocates to push for broader acceptance and integration of cannabis within the medical field, particularly in recovery support. Events like these are key in fostering a sense of unity and collaboration within the cannabis space.

Together, these events are critical during National Recovery Month as they spotlight the role of cannabis in recovery, from education to community support. They help reduce stigma, provide valuable resources, and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health. We hope that you’ll join us. Please email us with any questions.

Vending and sponsorship opportunities are still available for both events. Please reach out to us if you’d like to participate.
