Dayton’s cannabis landscape is evolving with the arrival of The Garden Dispensary, Forest Park-based King City Gardens’ first dispensary. Formerly known as Off the Charts or OTC, the dispensary located at 3145 Salem Ave recently reopened as The Garden. Their management told us how the new store represents the company’s first brave leap into vertical integration and a focus on providing a top-notch cannabis buying experience with fast and friendly customer service and a wide variety of high-quality products.

A Seamless Transition
Regional Dispensary Manager Keshia Williams explains the dispensary’s recent transformation: “We acquired this location, originally called OTC, in April. They opened last year around June 2024, and it will be called The Garden Dispensary later this summer.” The acquisition marks King City Gardens’ first step into retail dispensary operations, bringing their cultivation expertise directly to Dayton consumers.
Prioritizing the Patient Experience
What Keshia says sets The Garden apart from other dispensaries in the area is its unwavering focus on customer service. “Our team wants to be here. They take pride in their position and work,” Williams emphasizes. The dispensary has implemented a unique incentive-based training approach using a platform Williams says focuses on “customer service, product knowledge, leadership, and operational efficiency.”
For new cannabis users, whether they are medical patients or casual consumers, the dispensary offers a welcoming environment. “If they need help, we’ll do a consultation,” Williams explains as she shows us the large private room that separates the lobby from the show floor. “We have iPads and staff ready to provide extra help for patients, while also respecting those who want to quickly get in and out.”

Medical Patients Come First
As a former medical cannabis dispensary since 2024, Keshia emphasized that she hopes former patients in the area will come back now that they have reopened. She explained that there was a gap of time when the dispensary was closed to the public during the transition. “Everyone that works here is from the area, from the community,” Williams says. “They know their regulars and provide an elevated level of service.”
The dispensary offers special accommodations for medical patients, with an expedited space and prioritized service. Additionally, medical patients receive a significant benefit on certain days each week: “We offer an additional 30% off for medical patients that we advertise on our website.”
Diverse Product Selection
The dispensary prides itself on a carefully curated product selection. “We are eager to work with Ohio brands interested in fostering new relationships and growth. We want to give customers value and competitive price points,” Keshia said. The product lineup includes brands like King City, Hundred Percent Labs, Buckeye Relief, Certified Cultivators and AYR Wellness, with a commitment to introducing new products based on customer feedback.

Inclusive Discounts and Community Support
The Garden Dispensary offers several community-focused discounts:
– Veterans receive 30% off
– Indigent patients get 25% off
– Industry professionals enjoy a 25% discount
Expansion and Future Plans
The dispensary isn’t stopping at its current location. “We’ll be opening locations in Camp Washington and Sycamore in Cincinnati,” Williams reveals. The Dayton location itself has exciting potential, with plans to expand parking.
Convenient Access
While currently cash-only, the dispensary is preparing to modernize. “We’ll be going online with the Spender app and debit options,” Williams notes. The website https://otcdispo.com/ is currently up and running, and allows customers to view menus and build their carts before visiting.
A Message to Returning Customers
For those familiar with the previous OTC location, Williams has a reassuring message: “If you were an OTC customer in the past, you can still expect that same level of service, but an elevated experience with more products.”

Location and Accessibility
Situated in central Dayton, the dispensary serves both local patients and consumers and some coming from across the border. “We get customers from the central Dayton area, and we even attract some out-of-state visitors,” Williams explains.
The Garden Dispensary represents more than just a cannabis retail location—it’s a community-focused, patient-centric approach to cannabis access. With its commitment to education, service, and quality, it’s set to become a cornerstone of Dayton’s cannabis community.
