More than a dozen nonprofit and for-profit organizations, cannabis cultivators, processors, and dispensaries in Ohio are coming together in Lima October 19, 2023 for an event they’ve monikered the “Ohio Proud Cannabis Education Fair.”
The Goal: Make MMJ Program More Accessible
The goal of the Ohio Proud Cannabis Education Fair is to make the medical marijuana program more accessible in Lima, this “Grey Market” area of the state. Due to its proximity to Michigan where adult use is legal, a disproportionate number of people in this region drive across the border to obtain cannabis, and do not understand the rules established for the medical program in Ohio. As a result, many people don’t understand our market or the industry, and are unfamiliar with what Ohio offers. This free community event was designed to help MMJ patients make sense of current laws, learn what’s potentially changing, and meet the makers of their medicines.

A Great Time To Get Familiar With the Industry
With Issue 2 on the ballot this November, (recreational) adult use may pass, and many of the restrictions currently in place will be lifted while new ones take their place. MedicateOH will be on hand at the Ohio Proud Cannabis Education Fair in Lima to talk to the community about the impending ballot measure and other ways laws could be rewritten to affect current medical marijuana patients.
