MedicateOH reviewer Tyler Baker gives his thoughts on a popular strain by Farkas Farms (Bullseye Gardens), Wonka Bar. Baker says its been “one of the most interesting lineages I have had the pleasure of enjoying”. Here’s more about what he liked:

About Farkas Farms (Bullseye Gardens)

Farkas Farms (Bullseye Gardens) is a Level 2 Cultivator located in Grafton, Ohio. They have been growing since 2019 as one of the first 12 level 2 cultivators selected in the state. They made an early impression in the program with cultivars like Rainbow Chip, Problem Child, as well as the one I will be reviewing today, Wonka Bar.

First Impressions: Farkas Farms (Bullseye Gardens) Wonka Bar

I have tried this cultivar many times and I decided it was time to showcase my experience. This has been a very consistent cultivator and Wonka Bar left an impression on me from the beginning. Wonka Bar was one of the first cultivars that I ever tried from Farkas Farms. The bud glistened when I looked into my recently purchased loupe. (A 30x to 60x magnifying lens with an LED light.)

The features of the flower came through beautifully and presented before me a milky frosted nug that blanketed over green and purple hues. It looked like it belonged around the foliage in a glorious landscape of a winter wonderland painted by Bob Ross.

Bred by Exotic Genetix out of Washington State, this was one of the most interesting lineages I have had the pleasure of enjoying. A cross between Garlic Cookies and Mint Chocolate Chip brought on hints of each parent that complimented each other perfectly. You could say they were a match made in heaven!

Packaging and Labels

This product came in a Grove Bag with “Bullseye Gardens” on it accompanied by a target with an arrow going through the bullseye printed onto it. Grove Bags is a company that claims to be the best at long term cannabis storage. The newly patented “TerpLoc” ensures that terpenes are preserved for an extended amount of time without downgrading the flower. I personally like them as long as my buds don’t get smashed. Typically, I put my flower into a glass jar once I get home anyways.

The best feature of the packaging is the QR code that can be scanned to get to the full certificate of analysis (COA). <–I’ve linked it here too.

Aromas, Flavors, and Effects

When I broke the seal for the first time, I was able to immediately pick up aromas of sweet mint with a funky garlic/pine scent that made my nose wiggle every time I smelled it! My first couple of hits gave a refreshing taste that tingled my palate. The exhale revealed a pleasant earthy aftertaste. Initially the effects came on very subtle, then snowballed into a euphoric full-bodied tingle that gave a wonderful extended high, ending in relaxation.

Terpenes and Cannabinoids

The 5 most dominant terpenes in Wonka Bar consisted of Limonene, Myrcene, Caryophyllene, Pinene, and Humulene that combined with a few others to give an overall terpene content of just over 3%. On the cannabinoid side of things this one is heavy in THC coming in at 30.9% followed by some CBGA that hadn’t completely decarboxylated at 1.6%.

I love it when I can find a cultivar that has a broad terpene profile along with a favorable cannabinoid profile. THC definitely isn’t everything but when you’re looking for a powerhouse strain. I think high terpene content along with high THC can be a good sign of something that will give you long lasting effects.

Final Thoughts: Farkas Farms (Bullseye Gardens) Wonka Bar

I have enjoyed everything about Wonka Bar. I consumed it mostly during the evening with my vaporizer and I always consumed too much! That seems to be what happens when I have some good tasting flower! I just want to take flavor hits over and over! This resulted in getting the bobblehead effect in which my wife had to say, “Hey Tyler, go to bed.” I did as she said, and had a good rest from the Wonka Bar effects.

I will be sure to grab more the next time I see Wonka Bar!
